What to do next? Move to New Hampshire

There are a great many people in the US who are fed up with the system. They’re fed up with stealing from Peter to pay Paul. They’re fed up with living under the rule of a government which invents its own wars then mercilessly fights an imaginary enemy. They’re fed up with their valuable efforts towards a brighter future seeming to get them nowhere.

These people are leaving me messages in the comments on this blog (Diebold 08, I’m talking to you), on my reddit profile, and in other places as well. They’re asking what they can do next. The answer is to move to the Free State. The answer is to move to New Hampshire.

For many people, the thought of picking up and leaving home to go to a new state where they may not know anyone can be scary. But it’s ok!  I moved to New Hampshire in June knowing only a couple of people but I love it here. There are friendly people who care about liberty and who have big plans for this state. There are people who want to fight within the system and people who want to live entirely outside it. But the most important thing is that the liberty loving people who are natives to New Hampshire are welcoming the liberty loving people who have moved here, and everyone is getting along. The more people who join the Free State Project, the more people we have to fight for our liberties. This is the next step.

New Hampshire is a wonderful state with stunning natural beauty and some of the friendliest people I’ve ever met. The Station Diner in Plymouth has some of the most amazing fresh food I’ve ever tasted. The beachfront has cool ocean water and immense blue sky. The North of NH is sparsely populated for the people who want their privacy, and the south has enough industry to make anyone seeking lucrative work drool. This is what’s next. seems like a remarkable idea but it sounds like if they wanted to destroy the movement then everyone would be an easy target there…. to many awesome people in one place.

Diebold, that’s a valid point and one that I’ve heard from other people before. I think that it’s something to be considered, but overall it’s not much of a concern. If we were all living together in a commune then I’d be much more concerned about it. As it stands, we’re spread out across the state, we can’t be identified simply by looking at us, and we have the general population of the state mostly on our side. Even the Free State Project doesn’t know, for sure, how many people have already moved here because some of the members won’t give that info even to the FSP. Those are the people who want to live entirely outside of the system. My advice to you would be to research it more, since you’re looking for something that you can do. If you’ve got money, I would suggest planning a trip to NH for either the Liberty Forum in January or Porcfest in June so you can meet some of the people and see if you like the area.

If the FSP is really not for you, get involved locally. There are probably people who believe the things you do in your local area. The challenge is in finding them. We tend to feel a lot like outcasts and not necessarily share our views.

Also, if you don’t listen to Free Talk Live, I would definitely suggest giving it a listen. Nick, the other author for this blog, is on as a cohost every Tuesday from 7-10 Eastern (including tonight).

I’ve got give me liberty or give me death across my chest. New Hampshire is looking more like the place to be instead of Texas. I always figured if you piss enough Texans off then Texas would do something about it but lone star state has been under the influence of the elitists for quite sometime now. Thanks for your info. It is invaluable.
